History

The Town of Watertown Ambulance has been in service since the early 70's with the Town of Watertown Fire Districts need to supply the Town residents emergency medical care and transportation. Over the years the Town of Watertown Fire District has provided a caring and professional ambulance service to the residents.

With the increased difficulties of today's lifestyles, it has become difficult to meet the demands of New York State's training requirements for EMS. As with most things in life there is a growth and the ambulance was no different. It became necessary for the ambulance to separate from the Fire Department to be able to continue to provide the level of care that the residents have become accustomed to.

The new ambulance squad went into service on November 20th, 2007.  Relying on the dedication of EMS and driver volunteers to get things rolling, we began to help the people in the town with their emergency medical needs. After a short time the hiring process began to bring on more dedicated advanced care personnel to attend to the needs of the residents and businesses of the town. Many of the Fire Department volunteers are also on the crew for the ambulance. The town of Watertown Ambulance Service and The Town of Watertown Fire Department are working hand in hand for the betterment of our community.
